Dr. Frank J. E. Falco is an innovative pioneer and widely-recognized expert in the field of pain medicine and spinal disorders. Quadruple board certified and licensed to practice medicine in several states, he is the Founder and Medical Director of Mid Atlantic Spine and Pain Physicians, a nationally recognized medical practice providing advanced treatment options for spine and chronic pain related disorders.

 

Dr. Falco graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Villanova University and received the Dean’s Awards for Academic Excellence and Meritorious Service. He then attended and graduated from Temple University School of Medicine, earning a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1988 and awarded the Dorthea Daniels Glass MD Award.

 

Following his four-year physical medicine and rehabilitation residency as Chief Resident at Temple University Hospital, Dr. Falco completed two fellowships in spine and sports medicine; first with Southeastern Orthopedic Associates in Pensacola, FL followed by Georgia Spine & Sports Physicians in Smyrna, GA.

Dr. Falco founded Mid Atlantic Spine and Pain Physicians in January 1995. For 20 years, he served as the Pain Medicine Fellowship Director at Temple University Hospital. He was also an Adjunct Associate Professor in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Temple for five years and served as a Residency Faculty Member for the University of Delaware.

 

Dr. Falco is board certified in Pain Medicine, Interventional Pain Medicine, Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice, Sports Medicine, Electrodiagnostic Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is a Board Member, and past President of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and past President of the DE Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

 

Nationally recognized in the field of pain medicine and spinal disorders, Dr. Frank has authored countless medical articles and book chapters and has traveled nationally and internationally to lecture on the topics of pain management, spinal disorders, spinal cord stimulation, intrathecal pain pumps, endoscopic lumbar discectomies, vertebral augmentation, and more. He has also received numerous awards for his medical work, including named Top Doctor, “Best Pain Management Physician in America,” by two prestigious organizations, Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. and Becker’s ASC Review. Additionally, U.S. News & World Report ranked Dr. Falco among the top 1% (top 54 doctors in the nation) for pain management and he was the only pain doctor listed as one of 12 Delaware physicians from all specialties ranked in the top 1% nationwide.

 

Aside from his practice, Dr. Falco serves as an expert witness in physical medicine and rehabilitation and performs additional medical legal work including defense and independent medical examinations, workmen’s compensation, and personal injury cases.
