C. Obi Onyewu, M.D. Promoted to a Principal of MASPP

NEWARK, DE - (February 7, 2007) - Mid Atlantic Spine and Pain Physicians (MASPP), the most comprehensive pain practice in the U.S diagnosing and treating spine and pain related disorders, is pleased to announce that C. Obi Onyewu, M.D. has been promoted to a Principal in the practice. Dr. Onyewu, who has been with Mid Atlantic Spine since 2003, is based in Delaware and works primarily with patients in the Wilmington office.

"We are excited to welcome Dr. Onyewu to a senior leadership position in Mid Atlantic Spine," says Medical Director Frank John English Falco, M.D., a widely-recognized expert and pioneer in the treatment of disorders of the muscle and skeletal systems who founded Mid Atlantic Spine in 1995. "Dr. Onyewu is an important part of our medical team and practice, and we are very pleased to be able to recognize his talent, capabilities, and contributions with this promotion."

Prior to joining Mid Atlantic Spine, Dr. Onyewu received a BA in Biology from Rutgers University and first worked as a Research Assistant for the Anatomy Department for Temple University School of Medicine and then in counseling before entering and graduating medical school from Temple University. After graduating, Dr. Onyewu served as an intern for Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center and then completed residency at Georgetown University/National Rehabilitation Hospital.

Dr. Onyewu is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Physical Medicine Rehabilitation, the Physiatric Association for Spine, Sports and Occupational Rehabilitation, the National Medical Association, and the American College of Sports Medicine and is an active fundraiser for the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area Wheelchair Basketball League.
